Exposition

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, a young mongoose, is washed out of his burrow by a flood and rescued by Teddy’s family. He becomes part of their home and learns there are two dangerous cobras in the garden.

 

Rising Action

Rikki discovers Nag and Nagaina plan to kill the family so they can rule the garden. Rikki fights Nag first and protects the humans.

 

Climax

Nagaina tries to attack Teddy and his family during breakfast. Rikki fights her and chases her into her snake hole underground.

 

Resolution

Rikki kills Nagaina and returns safely. The garden becomes peaceful again, and Rikki is praised as a hero.

 

 

 

Summary

“Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” tells the story of a brave mongoose who protects a human family from two deadly cobras. Rikki fights Nag first, then battles Nagaina when she threatens Teddy. After defeating both cobras, Rikki becomes the hero of the garden. The story shows courage, loyalty, and bravery.

 

Analysis

 

This story is exciting and full of action. Rikki’s bravery made me feel impressed and proud of him. It teaches that protecting others and facing danger with courage is a true sign of heroism.
